The Board held a Special Presentation for the Recognition of National Women’s History Month. SCUSD recognizes and celebrates the important ongoing contributions of women in our society, and at the meeting, Youth Development Support Services shared the work of:

  • The Women’s Leadership Academy that is shaping the next generation of women leaders by equipping them with the skills, mentorship, and opportunities to excel in their chosen paths.
  • The International Rescue Committee has been a powerful force in supporting young women from refugee and immigrant backgrounds, ensuring they receive mentorship and resources to thrive academically and socially.
  • The collaboration with TCG that has created safe and supportive environments where young women can engage in personal development, peer mentoring, and self-empowerment programs that strengthen their confidence and leadership.
  • Sistabees, which has been instrumental in fostering sisterhood, self-care, and empowerment, particularly for our young women of color.

A Special Presentation was made for the Recognition of Trans Day of Visibility on March 31, 2025. This day was established as an international celebration of transgender people, recognizing their contributions as well as raising awareness about the unique challenges and discrimination that they face. This Board celebration seeks to formally recognize the District’s observance of Trans Day of Visibility and elevate the support and care we provide our transgender students, staff and families.

This certification reflects the District’s commitment to closely monitoring its financial position and ensuring it remains capable of meeting its obligations for the current and upcoming fiscal years.
