Matthew Bassett is a teacher at San Jose Charter Academy in West Covina. SJ Charter Academy is a k-8 charter school that is attended by about 1180 students. Matt has been teaching at SJCA since August 2001. He became a Nationally Board Certified Teacher in November 2011. He has taught every grade level at the school but is currently teaching kinder, first, third, fifth, sixth, and seventh grades. Over the years, he has coached flag football, basketball, softball, and track & field. In the past, he also coached at Maranatha High School (Pasadena, CA) where he coached both girl’s basketball and boy’s baseball.
