October 30, 2015 (Sacramento): A faculty member at C.K. McClatchy High School was placed on administrative leave today following reports of inappropriate behavior in class.

Several students concerned about the teacher brought cellphone video to school administrators, who acted swiftly to remove the teacher from class and contacted law enforcement. The teacher will remain on leave while the district investigates the incident.

The video appears to show the teacher, dressed in a Halloween costume, wrestling a student on the floor of a classroom.

The district is investigating today’s occurrence as possibly alcohol-related.

SCUSD has released the following statement regarding this incident:

“This incident is alarming and any type of behavior like this, regardless of the intent, is unacceptable. The district will investigate this matter fully and will continue to take every possible measure within our authority to ensure the safety and well-being of our students.”

Parents at the school have been informed of this incident via an automated phone message.
