Maple Community Meeting Specific Questions
Below are the answers to the Maple Elementary specific questions asked at the February 13th Community Forum. Please refer to our Frequently Asked Questions page for our universal list of question and answers.
If Maple is closed, where are the children going to play basketball? Rainbow Park is not safe.
The basketball courts are available to the community now during hours that the school is closed (in the evenings, weekends and summer months). Once the Board takes action on February 21, a 7-11 Committee (a committee with either seven or 11 members) will be formed to research, investigate and recommend re-use and re-purposing options for Maple and other sites to be closed next fall. Those recommendations could include a plan to leave the basketball court open.
What will happen to Maple when it closes? Will it become a jail or rehab center?
