Updates on Possible School Closures in the Event of a Labor Strike Tomorrow

e-Connections Post

Dear Sac City Unified Families,

As of now, Sac City certificated and classified labor partners, SCTA and SEIU, are still planning a joint strike tomorrow Wednesday, March 23. If no agreement is reached this evening, all schools will be closed tomorrow and until the strike comes to an end. District leadership is continuing to work with our labor partners to avert a strike and you will be notified as soon as schools are scheduled to reopen. Please read this message from Board President Pritchett and Superintendent Jorge Aguilar.

All athletic practices, competitions and extracurricular activities are canceled for the duration of the strike. Students may access academic activities by logging in to their CLEVER accounts, not Google Classrooms, and clicking on the Activity Menu for suggested activities.

Meals will be available at several convenient community locations for pick up between 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. each day. Meals will also be available in limited quantities at all SCUSD school locations IF NECESSARY during the school day, but we recommend that you visit one of nine convenient community locations.
