The SCUSD Open Enrollment application for incoming Transitional Kindergarten through 8th Grade opens Monday, February 5 at 8:00 a.m. and will run through Friday, February 23, 2024 at 5:00 p.m. This is an opportunity for your student to apply for enrollment to a different school than their neighborhood school for the 2024-2025 school year, based on space availability.

Enrollment into Transitional Kindergarten (TK) is now through the Open Enrollment process. The optional program provides students with an additional year of preparation, so they enter kindergarten with stronger academic, social, and emotional skills needed for future success in school. Sacramento City Unified will have a TK class at 39 of our schools for the 2024-2025 School Year. To learn about the program and the locations, visit scusd.edu/tk.

Apply Anytime Between February 5 – 23

Choose your selections carefully and apply anytime during the application window. No priority is given to early applicants, so you can take time to think about it as long as you meet the application deadline of Friday, February 23, 2024 at 5:00 p.m.

If your student is currently enrolled in SCUSD, you must also submit the Mid-Year Annual Update through your Infinite Campus Parent Portal by February 23, 2024 for your application to be eligible for the Open Enrollment lottery. View directions on how to complete an Annual Update form to verify your address and contact information. 

If you do not have an Infinite Campus Parent Portal account, request an activation key from your student’s current school office to create an account. Once you have an active Infinite Campus Parent Portal account, follow the steps to complete the Annual Update form.

Kindergarten Registration

It is recommended that you register your incoming Kindergartener in their neighborhood school before you apply for Open Enrollment in case your child is not selected through the lottery. Learn more about Kindergarten Registration at scusd.edu/kindergarten-registration.
