End of Covid-19 Prevention Regulations Requirements
Dear SCUSD Community,
CalOSHA guidelines requiring contact tracing ended on 2/3/25.
SCUSD will no longer require reporting of Covid-19 for students.
Per CDPH guidelines, for purposes of school attendance, Covid-19
should be treated similar to other endemic respiratory illnesses
like flu or cold. Per CalOSHA, staff will continue to self-report
positive Covid-19 cases to CovidReport@scusd.edu. Health
Services staff will monitor cases for any outbreaks per CDPH
guidelines.
If your child has symptoms that prevent them from participating
meaningfully in school please keep your child at home.
Otherwise follow the symptom guidance on the Symptoms
Guidance Flyer at the link below. Or refer to the SCUSD website
page to decide whether they can attend school.
- Masking is recommended for cold and cough symptoms
- Frequent hand washing is recommended to reduce transmission of disease.
If your child has been diagnosed by a doctor with a specific
illness, or develops similar symptoms after an exposure to a
communicable disease, follow instructions from your doctor or the
health department for when your child may return to school (for
example, Strep Throat or Norovirus). To assist us in tracking
possible outbreaks of communicable disease, please report
diagnosed illnesses to your school office.
