District Permit Application is Now Open
The SCUSD District Permit Application is now open! Families have until 5:00 pm on Friday, April 25, 2025, to submit applications. This is your opportunity to apply for your child to attend a school other than their assigned neighborhood school—or, if you live outside SCUSD boundaries, to request enrollment for the 2025–2026 school year. All placements are subject to space availability.

Inter-District Permits – for families living outside SCUSD boundaries who wish to enroll in an SCUSD school:
- Obtain an Inter-District Transfer Permit (ITP) from your home district and get it approved.
- Apply through SchoolMint, uploading the approved ITP and any supporting documents during the application window (April 7–25, 2025).

Transitional Kindergarten Notice
Due to a high number of applications in the TK Lottery, District Permit requests are not available for Transitional Kindergarten at this time. The next opportunity for in-district families to apply will be through regular registration starting May 19, 2025.
Kindergarten Registration
If you live within the district boundaries, we recommend registering your incoming kindergartener at their neighborhood school in case they are not selected through the lottery. Learn more about Kindergarten Registration.
