PTA/PTO Information Meetings

Blog entry By Katie Burns, Community Schools Specialist

Calling all John Still TK-8 families! We are exploring the possibility of creating a Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) or a Parent Teacher Association (PTA) at our school to support fundraising efforts, school activities, and strengthen our community. But what’s the difference between the two?

  • A PTO (Parent Teacher Organization) is a local, independent group of parents and teachers working together to support the school.
  • A PTA (Parent Teacher Association) is a national organization that provides resources and advocacy, and works closely with national and state-level education policy.

We need YOUR input to decide which option would be best for our school community. This is your chance to get involved and make a meaningful difference in our school’s success!

Join us for one of three upcoming information meetings:

  • Wednesday, December 11, 2024 at 4:30 PM and 5:30 PM – John Still Elementary Campus Library
  • Tuesday, December 17, 2024 at 8:15 AM – John Still Elementary Campus, Room E-3

We look forward to hearing your thoughts and ideas as we work together to create a thriving school community!
Be part of something special—your involvement makes all the difference!
