Fall Fun at John Still TK-8: Community Events You Won’t Want to Miss!

As the crisp fall weather settles in, the excitement at John Still TK-8 is unmistakable! October and November are packed with community events designed to engage families, promote a drug-free lifestyle, and celebrate our diverse cultures. Here’s a rundown of what’s happening this season:​

Red Ribbon Week: October 28 – November 1

Join us for Red Ribbon Week, kicking off on Monday, October 28th! Each day will feature a fun theme encouraging students to dress up and show their commitment to a drug-free life. Here’s what to expect:

Monday (Oct 28th): “Team Up for a Drug-Free Life” 
Wear your favorite Sports Team Jersey 

Tuesday (Oct 29th ): “Double Up Against Drugs” 
Dress like Twins or Triplets with a friend 

Wednesday (Oct. 30th): “Lead by Example, Say no to Drugs” 
Student/Teacher swap. Staff dress like students and students dress like staff 

Thursday (Oct 31st ): “Scare Drugs Away” 
Wear your HALLOWEEN COSTUME (no masks or weapons) 

Friday (Nov 1st): “Shine Bright, Stay Drug-Free” 
Wear NEON colors 

Boo Fest: Wednesday, October 30

Don’t miss our annual Boo Fest on Wednesday, October 30th, from 5 PM – 7 PM! We want to thank Rose Family Creative Empowerment Center and the Sacramento City Unified Youth Engagement Support Services Department  for their generous support in making this event possible. Get ready for an evening filled with music, games, and of course, candy!

Halloween Parade: Thursday, October 31

Wrap up October with our Halloween Parade on Thursday, October 31st! Students in grades TK-6 will showcase their costumes as they parade through the west campus, starting at 12:45 PM. It’s always a treat to see the creativity and spirit of our students!

November Events

As we transition into November, there are more opportunities to connect with our John Still community:

Parent-Teacher Conferences: Starting November 15th and running until December 2nd. This is a great chance to discuss your child’s progress and strengthen the partnership between home and school.

Multicultural Night: Join us on November 20th from 5 PM – 7 PM to celebrate the rich diversity of our school community. Enjoy cultural performances, delicious food, and engaging activities for everyone!
